TAGALOG, URDU and TAMIL TRANSLATORS
REQUIRED IMMEDIATELY
Certified Interpreters and Translators Needed!
We are constantly searching for skilled and experienced freelance community interpreters and translators. Candidates must be proficient in English and in one or more of the following languages: Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Croatian, Farsi, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Korean, Mandarin, Ojibway, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Slovak, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu and Vietnamese.
Other languages welcome.
Community Interpreters:
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Empathy, as well as solid interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English and in one or more other languages.
- Degree in language interpretation from an accredited college or university, and/or, successful completion of CILISAT or ILSAT language assessment testing or other Ministry Accreditation
- Experience in the field of community interpretation.
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police check).
- Valid Ontario Driver's license and reliable transportation to appointments.
Community interpreters will be expected to provide services to various organizations, both in government and business, across the Greater Toronto Area, including York Region.
Translators:
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Solid communication and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English and in one or more other languages.
- ATIO or equivalent certificate.
- Experience in the field of translation.
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police check)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of other computer software, such as Adobe Illustrator, an asset.
